But, unfortunately, the tech giant Microsft has recently announced that this new extraordinary and most awaited novelty will ultimately take longer to reach Windows 10, hence, as result, it is being postponed to a later update. The Timeline was one of the new features shown for Fall Creators Update. It will be the way we have access to our action history and can resume these tasks at any time, whether you are surfing the Internet, editing a document or simply viewing a video. Everything will be presented on a timeline and this new and extraordinary feature will simply allow the Windows 10 user and other operating systems, using Cortana, to have access to their history, just as the tech giant Apple already does with its Continuity functionality, which uses Handoff or Universal clipboard. It was hoped that this new extraordinary feature “Timeline” was already present in the latest build of the Insiders program, which now tests Fall Creators Update, but the truth is that so far it had not come up. When questioned on Twitter by Tom Warren, senior editor of The Verge website, about the Timeline, Joe Belfiore clarified that it will stay out of Fall Creators Update and that it will only come up in the builds after this update is released.
— Joe Belfiore (@joebelfiore) July 3, 2017 The reason for this change, according to Joe Belfiore, lies in development priorities that are already in place for OneDrive file synchronization. The remaining features will come later. A Fall Creators Update for Windows 10 is expected in September and the final versions of some of the features of these are being tested. The next major update is expected for March 2019, with Insider testing being started later this year. So, what do you think about this new extraordinary feature and of course, the delay issue?
