The parade happened in Chatan, one of the towns on the main island of Okinawa, and featured a team of super-cute dancing Pikachu, traditional local music, the local band HY, and the Pokemon Air Adventure theme song “Sorairo” which translates into “Sky Color.”
It will be followed tomorrow by a live concert in the same city, and we’ll make sure to publish the video for that as well when it goes live so that you can enjoy it on-demand.
You can check the video out below. Interestingly, the speakers presented the parade both in Japanese and in English, which certainly makes sense considering the fact that it was mainly an attraction for tourists.
If you’re not familiar with it, the Pokemon Air Adventures project was born to promote the return to flying and tourism in Japan after the slump caused by the pandemic. Among its initiatives, there are two Pikachu Jets operated by Skymark (The second of which will debut at the end of May).
