The reports from OpenSignal also said that India still stands at the 74th place out of 75 countries in 4G download speed. Well, If you are Indian then this statistic is going to hurt you. India’s 4G internet speed is relatively slower compared to other countries. Even our nearby countries like Pakistan and Sri Lanka has almost two times more 4G download speed opposed to India. Singapore leads the chart with the huge speed of 45.62 Mbps, almost 9 times more than India. The chart ends with Costa Rica with the 4G speed of only 5.14 Mbps. Even India also shares the same speed of 5.14Mbps. Our Neighbouring countries like Pakistan have recorded their 4G download speed of 11.71 Mbps whereas Sri Lanka managed to have a download speed of 10.42Mbps which is almost double than India. OpenSignal stated “The Jio-inspired 4G revolution in India has sent that country rocketing up our availability charts. India jumped into our top 20 with a 4G availability rating of 81.6 percent. In India, we have a unique case of a single operator having an enormous impact on the local 4G market.” “While we measured 4G availability for most Indian 4G operators at around 60 per cent in our recent India report, new entrant Reliance Jio provided an enormous boost to India’s overall availability with the launch of a nationwide LTE network that attracted 100 million subscribers in the space of six months.” So, these statistics clearly indicates that Narendra Modi’s dream to make India go digital seems a distant dream.
