In a surprise announcement, the tech giant Microsoft unveiled its latest feature phone, the new Nokia 216. At a time when on the table run plans to sell its business phones to FIH Mobile company, for the amount of $350 million dollars, a subsidiary company of Foxconn, but, Microsoft is still working on new Nokia phones. The new Nokia 216 is one of the most basic phones that Microsoft manufactures and will be available in India by the next month at a price of $37, about Rs.2500. https://youtu.be/AsKCq1rwG8c This device comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display with 0.3-megapixel cameras on the front and back. It is equipped with the operating system Series 30 and brings the browser Opera Mini. Inside the box, there will be a headset with 3.5 mm jack. Clearly not, but, the tech giant Microsoft knows the Indian market, for example, it has a high potential in this segment. Microsoft bet the manufacture of this line and still sells millions every month. What has generated some controversy is the company’s intention to “end” with Lumia smartphones and not exactly that of boosting the market to drag users into their ecosystem, leading users to create a Microsoft account. Some of the rumours state that the tech giant Microsoft already plans to launch next year a smartphone with Surface brand. At this point, with the Lumia and the various smartphones equipped with Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile to lose market share, the company forced to restructure the mobile department. The bet seems to be lower in this segment which has left the company less dominant in the trade of mobile devices. However, the tech giant Microsoft has significantly balanced back its phone business and put off thousands of employees as part of a $7.6 billion write-off for acquiring the Nokia’s phone business.
